WANDERING LEBANON
Share
My perspective on Lebanon begins with walking its capital's streets. It’s the kind of place where you might spontaneously sit for a coffee with someone you’d otherwise never meet, where each neighborhood shapes your experience (people, food, habits...).
Lebanon, and Beirut in particular is a layered, complicated mix of cultures, habits, and religions. It is a country of contrast and contradiction, and that’s what makes it so unique. Time has shaped it, worn it, and blessed it.
What began as a way to recover after a successful treatment, became something far deeper. It became my escape from the intensity of Beirut's life, my therapy, and eventually, my refuge.
Through these quiet walks, I discovered a side of Lebanon that often goes unseen. Without this detour in my life, I might have ended up somewhere far away, working in an industrial context I can no longer imagine being part of.
Seventeen years in, I’ve become a guide of sorts. You’ll understand what I mean when you see my work.
